Activision announced today that Rome: Total War, the revolutionary new real-time strategy game from The Creative Assembly and Tony Hawk's Underground, the first game in a new breed of Tony Hawk skateboarding games, were awarded Best of E3 2003 honors for Best Strategy Game and Best Sports Game. Hosted at www.e3awards.com, the "Best of E3" awards recognize excellence at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, as judged by the Game Critics Awards committee, which is comprised of 35 leading industry journalists. "It is an honor for Rome: Total War and Tony Hawk's Underground to be recognized by the industry's top journalists as the best games in their genres," said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president of Activision's worldwide studios. "This recognition is a testament to the talented development teams at The Creative Assembly and Neversoft."

GameSpyDaily got word from Aspyr Media that it will publish Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for both the PC and Mac. Full details will be released tomorrow, but we do know that the game will offer just about all the great features of the PS2 version along with support for up to eight players online or via LAN. No word yet on the official release date, but Aspyr says that a demo and a trailer are in the works, though didn't specify when they would be made available. Activision, Inc. announced today that the company has extended its successful partnership with world-renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk through an exclusive multi-year video game licensing agreement that expires in 2015. Mr. Hawk will continue to headline Activision O2's flagship action sports franchise, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which has generated approximately $500 million worldwide through March 31, 2002 and which was the single largest independent U.S. video game franchise during calendar 2001, according to NPD.

Activision announced today that it has shipped Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 for the Xbox and Gameboy Advance to stores (make sure to call ahead to see if its in stock). “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 for Xbox has great new features including an exclusive level, enhanced graphics, and multiplayer support that allows up to four friends to hang out and compete against each other via System Link,” said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios. “The Game Boy Advance version marks the first time the Create-A-Skater feature has ever been brought to the handheld system, and gamers can now play with up to three of their buddies with the Game Link Cable.”
