Over the past few fiscal quarters, it has become quite obvious that Blizzard's World of Warcraft is Vivendi's main source of income, driving its revenue month after month, but we never really knew how much cold hard cash it brought in. As the year came to an end, Vivendi made its 2007 tally, $1.51 billion for the year, up 26% compared to 2006, $1.2 billion coming from Blizzard's MMORPG.

Sony has rolled out new PlayStation Store content, starting with PixelJunk Monsters ($7.99 for a limited time), a free Folklore addon (winner of the Create-a-Creature contest), three Oasis songs for Rock Band ($1.99/song, $5.49/pack), Stranglehold map mack (10 multiplayer maps, 21 skins, $14.99). NPD Group announced that video game software sales in 2007 reached a new record of $9.5 billion, a 28% increase compared to last year. Console games amounted to $6.6 billion, PC titles $910.7 million and handhelds a record $2.0 billion.
