Ubisoft announces that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Japanese development studio Digital Kids. With offices in Nagoya and Osaka, Digital Kids currently has a team of 20 developers specialized in games for the NDS which has worked regularly for a number of Japanese publishers and developed several titles for Ubisoft’s Petz line of games, including Hamsterz Life.

While Blueside barely released KUF: Circle of Doom, it is already working on the next title in the franchise. Kingdom Under Fire Dominion will be a Massively Multiplayer Online Action RTS (MMOARTS), and is currently scheduled for 2009. The new title will have a new story line, new characters/NPCs, and promises a shocking ending. The action will be improved upon and much larger in scale with thousands units fighting, siege warfare, and players will compete to dominate the world. There will be three sides, Light, Dark and one yet to be announced faction.

Eidos parent company SCi announced it no longer believes a sale of the company is in its best interest, and also updated its 2008 release schedule, delaying 4 of its 10 2008 titles until the end of the year, with the most prominent being Tomb Raider: Underworld, (previously on PC, PS3 and X360, now also on NDS, Wii and PS2). Eidos revealed that controversial Kane & Lynch has sold more than 1 million copies since launch.
