Ubisoft announces that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Japanese development studio Digital Kids. With offices in Nagoya and Osaka, Digital Kids currently has a team of 20 developers specialized in games for the NDS which has worked regularly for a number of Japanese publishers and developed several titles for Ubisoft’s Petz line of games, including Hamsterz Life.

While Blueside barely released KUF: Circle of Doom, it is already working on the next title in the franchise. Kingdom Under Fire Dominion will be a Massively Multiplayer Online Action RTS (MMOARTS), and is currently scheduled for 2009. The new title will have a new story line, new characters/NPCs, and promises a shocking ending. The action will be improved upon and much larger in scale with thousands units fighting, siege warfare, and players will compete to dominate the world. There will be three sides, Light, Dark and one yet to be announced faction.

MGS4: Guns of the Patriots is set in a war-torn future where huge conglomerates, including those in the Middle East and South America, fight for supremacy using armies of hand-picked mercenaries. Recently delayed until Q2 2008, in the latest Kojima Prod. podcast assistant producer Ryan Payton revealed that the game is in the final stages, fully playable, about to enter debug phase, and Mr. Kojima is committed to make sure there are no further delays.

Eidos parent company SCi announced it no longer believes a sale of the company is in its best interest, and also updated its 2008 release schedule, delaying 4 of its 10 2008 titles until the end of the year, with the most prominent being Tomb Raider: Underworld, (previously on PC, PS3 and X360, now also on NDS, Wii and PS2). Eidos revealed that controversial Kane & Lynch has sold more than 1 million copies since launch.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is an Online Action RPG, mixing a deep, story-driven single-player experience and a brutal multiplayer end-game. War Leaders: Clash of Nations will expand upon the RTS genre by placing gamers in the roles of the major leaders of WWII, including Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin. Political, diplomatic and economic decision making will be key to success, while sound tactical strategies will ensure victory on the battlefield.

Having won various awards, and generally praised for its storytelling & atmosphere, it should come as no surprise that a major film production company is rumored to be in talks Take Two about a movie adaptation. Through extensive use of green screen technology similar to Legendary Pictures' 300, the studio hopes to bring the fallen aquatic utopia of Rapture to the big screen but whether it will go beyond the negotiations stage remains to be seen.

Restoration Project is an unofficial addon for Fallout 2 adding content back into the game that was originally planned by the developers, such as 6 new locations, a few new areas to old locations, and almost every town in the game has new content whether it is new characters, quests, or items.

Namco Bandai announced Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 3 for the NDS featuring the most robust store lineup to date, with 13 brand new shops to run and expand, a park to design and visit, and the ability to trade journals with your friends wirelessly.

In addition to a new campaign that ties up the Dread Lords saga, GalCiv II: Twilight of the Arnor adds civilization-specific technology trees and planetary improvements that add even more flavor to each alien race, while greatly expanding the strategic depth of the game. Originally scheduled for Jan, the GalCiv II expansion has been delayed until March in order to add new features.
