Although there are still a number of critical selling days left in the quarter, which ends Dec. 31, 2005, Activision today announced that it expects net revenues and earnings for the third and fourth quarter and full fiscal year 2006 to be lower than the outlook previously provided by the company on November 2, 2005.

Is it just me or is there something wrong with Midway these days. After it closed down Stainless Steel only a few weeks ago, it seems they have shut down yet another,
recently acquired, development studio. Midway Australia, formerly know as Ratbag, was bought by Midway earlier this year, and rumors has it that it has closed down. What is to come of the several titles that were in development is not know at this point and Midway has not yet replied to our inquiries.

A couple weeks back members of the official Infinity War forum threatened with a 24 hour server boycott, taking down their multiplayer servers, due to the lack of support and communication from Activision and IW, especially anti-cheat/punkbuster integration, etc. Activision finally replied : "After 2 years of non-stop work on Call of Duty 2, Infinity Ward has just returned from a much-deserved break. The team is aware of some concerns about multiplayer cheating in the game and is looking into an anti-cheat solution." Not a lot to go on, and it only addresses one of the grievances ..

While its official announcement isn't due until Monday it seems Capcom has already revealed the first bits of info on its nextgen title. Lost Planet is a sci-fi FPS title for the X360 with a strong MechAssault flavor to it, the main character is modeled after Korean actor Lee Byung Hun. Produced by Keiji Inafune, known for Dead Rising and Onimusha, Lost Planet will have you battle huge aliens, bug like creatures, mechs and other not so humans species in large city environments, and cave dwellings.
