Japanese magazine Nikkei Electronics quotes an interview with SCE head honcho Ken Kutaragi that its next-gen PS3 console will no longer feature the previously announced three Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing it to act as a home network router. The reason cited was that it would have made the console too expensive. Instead, people will have to resort to their own in-house routers to accommodate networking.

With the first Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 expansion pack Soaked! only a few weeks out in stores, Atari has revealed that Frontier Developments is already working on a second expasion pack for its theme park simulator. Atari Germany has 'RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Wild!' scheduled for a November release, although no further details as to what the expansion pack will include are available at this point. Wizards of the Coast today announced that the ever-popular Mirage set will be re-introduced as a new expansion for Magic: The Gathering Online. Originally released in 1996, the Mirage card set consists of some of the most memorable cards in Mirage: The Gathering history and continues to be a fan favorite to this day. IBM will receive $775 million in cash and $75 million in credit for software from Microsoft Corp. to settle claims that resulted from the federal government's antitrust case against Microsoft in the 1990s. U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson ruled in 2000 that Microsoft engaged in anticompetitive practice, and the judge's ruling cited IBM as a company that Microsoft had forced to "desist from certain technological innovations and business initiatives."
