LucasArts' The Secret of Monkey Island has been a classic since its release on the PC/Amiga back in 1990, but it's still being referenced as the quintessential adventure game. If we may believe the German ratings board, Activision (the European distributor for all things LucasArts) is working on breathing new life in the franchise with The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, bound for the Xbox 360, most likely an Xbox Live Arcade remake. Legendary Pictures Getting Into Game Development

Legendary Pictures has been in the gaming news several times the past few years, with making theatrical movies based on Warcraft and Gears of War, at one point rumored to be interested in buying Epic, and most recently its involvements in the Watchmen movie and game adaptation. Now Legendary is taking it one step further according to Variety, as it has appointed former EA/Activision exec Kathy Vrabeck to run its gaming division, with its first title most likely being The Lost Patrol, due for release in 2010.
