As promised EA/DICE have released the new patch for Battlefield 2, and its Special Forces expansion pack. This update brings your retail game to v1.12 and makes Battlefield 2 compatible with the expansion, as well as adding a few minor fixes.

RTL Enterprises' is bringing its next titles in the Ski Alpin frachise o the PS2 and PC this coming November. Ski Alpin 2006 will feature new graphics, soundeffects, and more animations to increase the reality and immersion of the game. Multiplayer will support up to twelve players, hot-seat, online and LAN.

Rockstar Opens New Development Studio In London

Without much exposure, Rockstar's website reveals that the controversial developer is expanding its UK operations with an all new development studio in the heart of London, which up until now was mainly the European publishing headquarters. Rockstar London is looking for artists, animators, programmers and senior network programmers, which could indicate a nextgen project with built-in online capabilities. Whether this new studio is an acquisition of an existing developer, or any word on its projects, was not disclosed.

The story for the game was inspired by the H.G. Wells alien invasion classic novel written in 1898, but is retold within the context of a contemporary setting. The viewpoint character is a law student currently serving as a helicopter gunner in the National Guard. The game begins on the fourth day of the Invasion, with the player ferrying a Special Forces team into Downtown Manhattan for a mission that will decide the outcome of the War.

Ballerium now celebrates its 30th beta round and everybody is invited to try MMO-RTS Ballerium for free, no strings attached, no credit card required, and no ads displayed. Having gone through possibly the largest list of hurdles, including Majorem (the developer) running out of money several times, Ballerium seem to gain better appreciation from its testers now than it did before. As a result, the developers now decided to let anyone onto the servers on a fully open beta, create an account and register.
