Telltale Games Signs 'Sam & Max' License

Finally! After many months of rumors and petitions, Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell, currrently working at Pixar, has come to an agreement with Telltale Games to work on the next Sam & Max title. After LucasArts cancelled Sam & Max: Freelance Police in 2004, the game has been in limbo, but the new agreement is not to continue where LucasArts left off, the new title will be a new product, with added content, and will be released in episodes, much like Telltale's current project Bone. Game Retailers Ask Governor Schwarzenegger to Veto Violent Video Game Bill

The trade association representing the industry's leading retailers of computer and video games, the Interactive Entertainment Merchants Association (IEMA) requested that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger veto Assembly Bill 1179, which would criminalize the sale of video games that depict certain types of violence. The controversial bill was passed by the California State Legislature and the governor now has thirty days to either sign it in to law or veto.

The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals that Capcom is as good as finished with the development of Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, scheduled for release in Japan this coming winter. DMC 3: SE will let you to unlock Dante's evil twin Vergil and allow you to play through the entire game from his perspective. Capcom plans to include several new modes, such as a "very hard" setting and also allow you to watch the cutscenes back to back. More details will surely be revealed in a few days when TGS 2005 kicks off.
