The non-linear plot of Officers preserves the established facts of the origins of WWII and allows gamers to lead any of three sides to victory: USSR, Germany and Allies (GB and USA). The game recreates the real structures of all participants' armies, using the real arsenal, equipment and military techniques.

The America's Army: Real Heroes sequel allows players to fight as actual decorated soldiers, such as Wolford. The game will feature nine soldiers, including a woman, said Lori Mezoff, a spokeswoman for the game venture. The soldiers also will be used to create a line of action figures based on the game.
