Vivendi released its first half 2006 earnings results and overall net income is up nearly 11%, while Vivendi Games' earnings before interest and income taxes (EBITA) of EUR 62 million, up 226.3% compared to last year. Due to a delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced that it would postpone the PS3 launch in Europe, Russia, Middle East, Africa and Australasia from its original 17th November 2006 date, to March 2007. Launch dates for Japan and North America will remain the same, which are November 11th and November 17th respectively.
