The Consumer Electronics Association released some projections for consumer electronic sales in 2006. CEA expects factory-to-dealer sales to increase by 8% to $140 billion, with display technologies as the front runner with $22 billion. Games are expected to reach $12.5 billion in 2006, and fueled by the next-gen consoles, should amass $15 billion by 2007.

Valve revealed that it is working on several a few updates, the first coming in about 2 weeks, to move the core Counter-Strike gameplay forward. First off, the classic Train map is getting a HDR makeover, some minor layout changes, and a number of small bugfixes. The radar is getting reworked which will result in gameplay adjustments such as when you look at an enemy for a certain amount of time his name will become visible to you, and the rest of your team.

Atari released its Q1 2007 results and while net revenue dropped from $23.9 to $19.5 million, mostly due to less titles in circulation, net losses were reduced from $32.8 to $7.1 million. After the recent sale of various franchises, Atari's CEO Bruno Bonnell announced in the subsequent conference call that it's now time to rebuild & grow the company. Unfortunately there was also less pleasant news, Eden Studios Aline in the Dark is getting pushed back from its original early 2007 date to fiscal 2008 (anytime after March 2007).
