In addition to the
Monster Hunter 3, and
Super Smash Bros Brawl featuring Sonic announcements, Nintendo revealed a few other tidbits. Super Mario Stadium Baseball for the Wii, Fire Emblem DS, a new DS Demo Channel will be added to the Wii, although no details on what exactly it will offer. Mario Kart Wii will include motorbikes and come bundled with the Wii Steering Wheel. New Wiiware titles such as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Bomberman, Pokemon Farm (import Diamond/Pearl monsters from your NDS) and Doctor Mario Wii.

Nintendo will be showing a huge lineup of cool games for both Wii and NDS at the E for All Expo in Los Angeles, California, including Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Oct. 18-22 event at the Los Angeles Convention Center will be the first opportunity for the public to get their hands on these games and take them for a test drive.

After Nintendo's Senior Vice President George Harrison recently announced his departure, Senior Director of Corporate Communications Beth Llewelyn also put in her resignation and decided to "take some time off to be a full-time mom for a bit," after 12 years of service. A little while back, Nintendo decided to shut down its Redmond, Wa., offices, sell its property and set up shop in San Francisco and New York instead.

Symantec says an Adobe Flash vulnerability could affect the Nintendo Wii through its Opera internet browser, and as a result of the exploit completely freeze up the console while browsing a specially crafted video. Researchers at Symantec said the vulnerability has already been tested on Windows, Mac and some Linux apps, saying it reflects the increasing use of cross-platform hacks, and recommend users to update Flash Player with the latest patches from Adobe.

Midway announced that five new titles are in development exclusively for Nintendo systems. Only for Wii, experience the rebirth of action racing with Cruis'n and a collection of classic skill games with Game Party. Ultimate Mortal Kombat, The Bee Game and a title based on Cartoon Network's top-rated, kids animated series Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends are all in development exclusively for NDS.

Nintendo announced WiiWare, a game-creation service that will allow developers large and small to create new downloadable game content for sale through its Wii's Shop Channel, paving the way for smaller, more creative games to make their way to the public at lower prices. All three console developers, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, have been sued for various patent infringements with their current-generation consoles. Most recently, Microsoft got served by Lucent over an MPEG-2 issue, and today, Texas-based Lonestar Inventions
filed suit against Nintendo for a 1993 patent they own regarding "high capacitance structure in a semiconductor device," a space-saving method tripling the effectiveness of parallel plate capacitors by using layers of conducting strips.

Last month NoA announced it would be selling off its land in Redmond, Wash., right next to Microsoft, and would instead be moving the North American headquarters to New York or San Francisco. As a result, current employees had the choice of relocating or receiving a substantial severance package. Today,

Nintendo has acquired 80% of the shares in development studio Monolith, previously owned by Namco Bandai, which still retains a 16% stake. Currently employing 110 people, Monolith was founded in 1999 and is best known for Baten Kaitos and Xenosaga franchises, not to be confused with F.E.A.R / Condemned's Monolith Productions. With this acquisition Nintendo secures exclusivity on its upcoming Wii title, Disaster: Day of Crisis.
