The newest issue of PC Gamer has plenty of new details on the second downloadable episode for Half-Life 2. New weapon (Strider buster), new locations (missile silos, forrests, minefields), new vehicles, more complex physics puzzles, new gravity gun mode, new multiplayer mode and more open battles with large amount of enemies. Unfortunately the article also states that Half-Life 2 : Episode 2 is scheduled for spring 2007, if this is accurate then that means several months delay from its original date.

Valve's
SteamPowered website has been updated with details on a small patch for its just released Half-Life 2: Episode One and Topware's Earth 2160. While the latter merely fixes the game incorrectly prompting for a CD key entry, the HL2: Ep. One part fixes some corrupted closed caption lines and addresses a bug in gameplay stats reporting. Just restart Steam for the effects to take place.

Valve that announced Half-Life 2: Episode One debuted at #1 on retail PC game charts across Europe, including the dominate markets of Germany, UK and France. Episode One, released at retail outlets and via Steam on June 1st, is the first in a trilogy of episodes that will conclude by Christmas of 2007.

Half-Life 2: Episode One does not require Half-Life 2 to play, and will be available via Steam and at retail stores in North America for just $19.95 on June 1st. "The past couple of days have been spent with the team adding commentary tracks. Hopefully it will be interesting for people to gain some insight into our development processes. In a yet to be published interview with C&CG, Valve's designer/engineer Robin Walker reveals that it is already working on the second installment of its episodic series of Half-Life 2 expansions. This would also mean that Episode One is nearing completion, of which Walker also revealed it contains about 4-5 hours of gameplay. HL 2: Episode 1, previously known as HL 2: Aftermath is expected to be available through Steam on April 24th priced $19.99, with EA publishing a retail version shortly thereafter.

Valve has changed the Half-Life 2: Aftermath name to Half-Life 2: Episode One, and will release content in a series of episodes according to
GameSpot. Similar to Ritual's SiN Episodes, Valve will use its Steam content delivery to offer several episodes instead of full addons, according to Valve' Doug Lombardi. An estimated released date for Half-Life 2: Episode One was not revealed.

SteamPowered website has been updated with details regarding the latest update for its online delivery system Steam. This release updates the DoD:Source gameinfo.txt to support the Source SDK, and applies a few fixes to the Half-Life 1 engine, and a few tweaks to the H-L1 dedicated server. Just restart Steam for the effects to take place.

Half-Life 2: Aftermath, the eagerly anticipated expansion pack for Valve's Half-Life 2, has been delayed (thanks HalfLife2.net). Originally scheduled for November it has now been pushed back to Feb/March 2006. Reason for postponing according to Doug Lombardi : "We're working very hard to finish this new episode for HL2, however, its going to take us a bit more time to get it into top shape. As such, the target release for this one is now Feb/March of next year.:
