Earlier this month it was revealed that SEGA put down a new trademark for Sonic Unleashed, what looked like a new installment in the Sonic franchise. In case suing the
Guitar Hero franchise and
various retailers isn't enough, Gibson has also filed a lawsuit in the Federal District Court in Tennessee against EA, MTV Networks and Harmonix, claiming that Rock Band also infringes on that very same patent. Although Gibson Guitar contacted the parties involved in good faith, it received no reply in a timely manner with an intent to enter into negotiations for a patent license agreement, so there was no alternative but to bring the suit.

Revealed a few days ago, Namco Bandai is working on a Wii exclusive action/flight sim game, based on the upcoming animated movie by Mamoru Oshii, known for such productions as Ghost in the Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire and Innocence : Ghost in the Shell 2. The Sky Crawlers is set in an alternate reality and chronicles the adventures of an elite squadron of fighter pilots.
