Codemaster has updated the official ToCA Race Driver 3 website reflecting a change in release date for its latest racing simulation. Where it previously stated the 3rd edition in the franchise would be released winter 2005, it has now been pushed forward and has a tentative release autumn 2005 release date (thanks Blues).

The video game industry has been in talks with actors unions for quite some time now, but when talks broke down last December it has become clear that unions are leaning towards their only alternative, striking. The breakdown was over ongoing payments to actors and actresses for each copy of a game sold to which they contribute their voices and likenesses, while the game publishers want to stick to one payment up-front.

Activision today announced that it has acquired game developer Beenox, known for several Mac or console to PC ports, currently working on Fantastic Four. The acquisition further bolsters Activision's internal development capabilities by providing it with a foothold in the province of Quebec.
