Yesterday we watched the Tintin movie, and it was quite enjoyable. It's really amazing to see how far cartoons have come; the characters look so life-like that it's almost creepy. It pleased me that there were a lot of little hints and nods to iconic items from the comic book source material.
Our DVR also decided to see the light, as our recording schedule has finally caught up with upcoming airings, so hopefully, we won't missing anymore new episodes.
We caught up with the latest episode of "The Good Wife," which does a good job of keeping you interested with its cases, but also doesn't linger too long on the overall story arc.

Apart from the crappy weather (it rained most of the time), we had a good weekend.
Ricky visited for a few days, which is always a good time. Baby back ribs and wine were on the menu, and they sure were tasty!
The Muppets movie was better than anticipated. We'll have a report on that later this week, so if you've been meaning to see it next weekend, keep an eye out in a few days.
Apart from that, we hunkered down and cleared through last week's Bones, Fringe, Homeland, Kitchen Nightmares and Once Upon A Time. Also watched the most recent The Walking Dead. We did well!

Not much going on at the moment. Playing some Fallen Earth, Stronghold Kingdom, APB, Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, as well as trying to finish up LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7.
On Monday and Tuesday nights, our DVR is very busy recording a bunch of shows, so we quickly scratched The Walking Dead and Blue Bloods off the list. Both good episodes ...
Some VERY exciting news on the music front. The original members of Black Sabbath (Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Ward, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler) have
confirmed they’re heading back into the studio to record an album of new material with producer Rick Rubin.
When do the tickets go on sale!!?!?!?!

The season two opener of
The Walking Dead was pretty good, and if you have not seen the episode yet, be prepared for your jaw to drop at the very end. Good stuff.
Saturday evening, we went to the Night Ranger/Foreigner/Journey concert, and it was an awesome time. While neither of the bands may be on the cutting edge of today's music, it was great to belt out the classics from a few decades ago.
The place was packed with 22,000 rock fans, and most of them brought their kids to show them what the good old days sounded like.
As a sign that I'm getting older, I keep thinking, "Man, they don't make 'em like they used to," and that applies to both music and video games.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us, entertaining some friends for dinner as a return favor for their BBQ a couple of weeks ago. We'll be slaving away in the kitchen quite a bit.
Still haven't decided whether we're gonna watch
Contagion,
The Debt, or catching up on
Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Gaming-wise, played some Space Marine, liked it, and a little bit of Gears of War 3. Things have heated up a little bit in Stronghold Kingdoms as we've declared war on the second biggest house, so we're digging in!
Don't forget to keep an eye out later today for our
Street Fighter III: Third Strike - Online Edition (PSN/XBLA) code giveaway on the
WorthPlaying Twitter feed.

Today, we have some juicy content. There's a fresh
Street Fighter III: Third Strike - Online Edition PSN review, which is notable since we'll be giving away codes for it on Friday. Be sure to
follow WorthPlaying on Twitter to get the scoop.
And you know an
interview with Cliff Bleszinski is always an interesting read, as we grill him on a variety of topics related to the imminent Gears Of War 3 release (look for our review tomorrow).
I'm rather disappointed in the latest box office numbers. Hardly anybody saw
Warrior, and that's a shame. While it may not be a deep social commentary like
The Help, it's very entertaining.
Contagion looks quite interesting as well. Might watch that this weekend as soon as we can scuttle our dinner guests out the door.

Next month, we're heading to New York for a little vacation, which we coincided with the US Open tennis tournament, so we had planned to see our favorite Kim Clijsters in her bid to defend her title. We have our plane tickets and tickets to the women's final, only to find out this week that she will not be competing due to a lingering injury. Talk about bad timing!
Yesterday was spent lounging around, running some errands, and going out to a fancy dinner, after which we made a failed attempt at watching The Green Hornet. This is the second time we've dozed off while watching it. The movie is not too bad, though it's a little weak. In our defense, though, there was wine involved.
Later today, we might watch The Change-up, since we have free tickets to redeem toward an older movie.

Later this week, we're going on a little trip to visit a few friends, but the trusty laptop is primed and ready, so there will be no slowdown in coverage.
Speaking of trips, next week Adam is going to be some traveling of his own, as he will be visiting Eidos Montreal to get us all the latest details on Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Gaming-wise, it seems to be a bit quiet, probably due to the summer holidays, but I've got my eyes set on Darkfall, Fallen Earth and Earthrise for the time being, so we'll see which one captures my attention.

What's up with these MMO companies that want you to give them your payment information to activate your account when the retail version includes the first month for free? Why would I potentially put myself at risk with my credit card if I don't even know if I want to subscribe? I already paid you for the game, and you gave me a free month to try it out. Why do you want more? Makes me not even bother to try out your game in the first place, I've already tossed aside two games because of that.
We watched the new Harry Potter movie yesterday, and it was quite good. It's nice to see it all getting wrapped up, but personally, I was a bit disappointed in the ending. Had hoped for some more fireworks. What's up with the "19 years later" bit? I see the point that they want to show everything went full circle, and it's in the book and everything, but all I got from it was that they all got fat and ugly.

We decided to watch 1991's
Showdown in Little Tokyo, featuring
Dolph Lundgren and
Brandon Lee, on Netflix, and we shouldn't have. I remember that back in the day, the movie was pretty good, but watching it 20 years later, it's amazingly bad. The one-liners are horrible, the acting is weak, and what the hell are they wearing!?
Keep an eye out on
our Twitter account later today. We'll be giving away XBLA codes for
Call Of Duty: Black Ops - Annihilation DLC. We've also posted a
review of the Annihilation map pack, which Sanford apparently enjoyed quite a bit.

Damn, that was a pretty slow day yesterday, but I guess everybody did their thing during E3, so it might be boring for the next week or two.
Haven't had a chance to try Duke Nukem Forever yet, but I've been seeing reviews and feedback that is all over the place. Some people claim it's juvenile, boring and ugly, and others say it's fun and not exactly revolutionary, but still a decent game. Guess I'll have to play it myself to judge.
However, what I'm really looking forward to is
Falling Skies, a new sci-fi TV series about some sort of alien invasion with
Noah Wyle,
Moon Bloodgood,
Dale Dye (also know for working with Gearbox on Brothers In Arms) and a bunch of others. Starting this Sunday, it'll tide me over until
The Walking Dead comes back!

The last day of E3 is upon us, and we're mighty glad it is. While the show is fun, we're equally glad when it's over.
This year, we've seen quite a few new oddities. There are large, middle-aged gamers who have such severe mobility issues that they're in scooters. Somebody had a seizure and dropped to the floor while gaming. Last but not least, we saw somebody who was so fat that he had to lie on his side to eat lunch. If it weren't so embarrassing, I'd have taken a photo as proof. I'm not insensitive, but those things stood out more than in previous years.
Tomorrow we are flying back home, and we can start catching up on the dozens of press kits. Joy!

The first day of E3 is over and lots of appointments are behind us. So far, I've only managed to screw up one, so it's a good start!
We ended the evening by attending a Gears of War 3 event, with a musical appearance by Ice-T's Body Count metal band.
Our dear friends over at
Wargaming.net (publishers of World of Tanks) gave us an awesome remote-controlled tank, and it even shoots BB pellets. Now
that's what I call swag!

It's an exciting day today! Lots of new games are due, such as Brink, The First Templar, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, MX vs. ATV Alive, Virtua Tennis 4, and a slew of others. Something for everybody, it seems. I'll be having a look at Brink, LEGO Pirates and maybe The First Templar. I like me some medieval hack 'n' slasher.
Contrary to previous years, we have a head start on E3. Most of our travel and hotel accommodations have been booked, and I even have the first appointment scheduled. Quite amazing, really.
My
MSi Geforce GTX-Ti 560 is working like a charm. The gameplay has been very smooth, and there aren't any overheating issues. It has my seal of approval, so if you are looking for an excellent graphics card, I can safely recommend that one.

Damn! Some awesome chili and cornbread last night, paired with a few glasses of wine, and that resulted in nothing but an almost instant snooze-fest!
We tried watching some Stargate Universe, but the force was too strong, the couch too comfortable, and lights were out within minutes.
So, who's picking up Portal 2 today? Everybody! If portal-placing puzzle-solving fun isn't your bag, then there are quite a few other
titles shipping today, such as Mortal Kombat, SOCOM 4, and probably a few other knickknacks.
Well, I'd better get to it ...

Our night on the town is over. Good food, plenty of drinks (Jameson, Guinness, margaritas), and lots of inappropriate stories and comments, always make for a fun evening.
Prior to heading out, we quickly watched our favorite tennis player Kim Clijsters advance to the next round in the Australian Open. One step closer to winning the entire thing!
We'll soon be kicking off a new contest, this time giving away a ton of beta codes for Punchers Impact's
Crasher, a vehicular combat featuring MOBAs (multiplayer online battle arenas). If that sounds like it may be of interest, keep an eye out in the coming days.

DC Universe Online beta key giveaway (for both PC and PS3 codes), which will be ending soon. Be sure to have a go at it.
Yesterday was pretty subdued. We ran some errands and watched TV for the rest of the day. We got sucked into the
Pillars of the Earth miniseries and two of the
Millennium Trilogy movies.
