Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, this third-person, open-world action-shooter will return to Mars and once again redefine the limits of destruction-based gameplay. The multiplayer demo features ten-player Damage Control mode. While the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions are due in stores next week, THQ confirmed that the PC version is scheduled for this summer.

Formed earlier 2009, Ruffian Games has been on a recruiting spree as of late, and is currently a 40 person strong game development studio based in Dundee, moving into full production on its yet to be announced first title. Ruffian staff have previously worked on games such as Crackdown, Fable 2, Project Gotham Racing, Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat and is comprised of former EA, Midway, Free Radical, Real World employees, but also a bunch on newcomers.

Midway announced that it has entered into a "stalking horse" asset purchase agreement with Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., meaning that WBIE would acquire substantially all of Midway's U.S. assets including the Mortal Kombat franchise and its development studios in Chicago/Seattle, but not the TNA/Wheelman franchises.
