The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena presents a reinvention of 2004's Escape from Butcher Bay in HD, enhancements, as well as adding the Dark Athena chapter, an expansion of the original game with an exciting new story and new gameplay features. Last year Sierra delayed the game until 2008, and hasnt been heard of since, but according to Starbreeze CEO Johan Kristiansson it is looking good and nearing completion.

TF2 is a class-based, multiplayer team warfare game, delivering new game types, a signature art style powered by Valve’s next-gen animation technology, persistent player statistics, etc... Valve's next update revolves around the Pyro class, with new item designs and achievements. One of the new items, the Axtinguisher, does about half of normal damage to standard run-of-the-mill non-burning enemies, once you light someone on fire the Axtinguisher will guarantee a critical hit. At the same token there will be significant changes to the Pyro class for everyone, regardless of whether they have unlocked any new items.

Sony has rolled out new PlayStation Store content, Rock Band gets Disturbed and Jimmy Buffett pack (3 songs each), Guitar Hero III gets Motorhead Track Pack ($6.25), and God of War II's The End Begins (to Rock) for free, the first issue of SCEA's monthly interactive video production Qore, Capcom's Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 ($9.99), Tiki Games' top-down arcade shooter Novastrike ($9.99), demos for Civilization Revolution, Battlefield: Bad Company, and NASCAR 09. As the first Naruto Wii title designed specifically for the North American audience, Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 promises an impressive list of playable characters from the Naruto universe, a polished and well-balanced fighting engine, and a deep, original storyline that expands upon episodes from the animated TV series.

Turbine announced that it has raised $40 million in equity financing from Time Warner Inc. and GGV Capital, Highland Capital Partners, Polaris Venture Partners, Tudor Ventures and Columbia Capital. The investment will be used to further accelerate Turbine’s growth as a global leader in online entertainment.

Last year we reported that Lionsgate had acquired the movie rights to Eidos' action game Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, with potential actors candidates Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton in the running to play death row escapees, "flawed mercenary" Kane and "medicated psychopath" Lynch, respectively. While there is no news on Billy Bob Thornton, Variety is confirming that Bruce Willis Bruce Willis is negotiating to star as Adam "Kane" Marcus. Simon Crane, who is currently working with Willis as the stunt coordinator on the Touchstone Pictures' The Surrogates.

The EverQuest franchise is bringing a near decade of success back to millions of fans with a new Living Legacy program from Sony Online Entertainment, which will feature in-game events, promotions, game updates and more.

Cryptic Studios announced that John Needham, previously Senior Vice President of Business Development and Operations over at Sony Online Entertainment, has joined the company as its Chief Executive Officer.

Trion World Network announced its first title, a fantasy-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game, led by Might and Magic and Heroes creator Jon Van Caneghem.

Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy is a third-person espionage action game where players move from fistfights to firefights to experience sequences that, unlike any other game, seamlessly blend Bourne's signature hand-to-hand combat with intense shooting and the ability to escape and evade deadly situations.
