Korean Online Games to Exceed $1.7 Billion by 2011

A new “Games Market in Korea” study finds that approximately 67% of Korean users in their 20s purchase paid digital content, with one of the fastest growing segments being casual games, that are free-to-play, easy-to-learn and can be played in “micro-slices” of time of ten minutes or less. Current forecast indicates the online games market in South Korea will exceed $1.7 billion by 2011, driven by new releases and an ingrained gaming culture.

'Left 4 Dead' to Get Scenarios, Bosses, Weapons as DLC, and Dedicated Servers

Set in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of Left 4 Dead casts four "Survivors" in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying "Boss Infected" mutants. In a recent interview Chet Faliszek revealed that Valve plans to release DLC soon after the game's release, and that the X360 game will get dedicated servers for better playability, but also a few tweaks like modified A.I. (so zombies don't attack from behind as often), a subtle aim assist and quick turn button.
