Ubisoft announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of the IP and technology rights to the Driver franchise, as well as most of the assets and all of the personnel of Reflections Interactive. This acquisition allows Ubisoft to enter the driving game segment, and it's confident Driver’s technology will have a positive effect on the full range of Ubisoft games.

Valve has announced that they are working around the clock to get all of the pieces of Episode Two ready to show at the Leipzig Games Convention. Valve will be not only be showing off Episode Two, but also Team Fortress 2, and Portal. While Sony promised that all PSOne and PS2 games would be backward compatible, it also unveiled that even your old savegames will be useable on the PS3. To use saved data on a PS2 memory card, you must copy the data onto a virtual memory card within the hard disk,which will require a PS2/PSone memory card adaptor to copy the data to your PS3. Activision released its financial numbers for Q1 of fiscal 2007, and while revenue dropped from $241 to $188 million, and net losses went up from $3.6 to $18 million, the overall results were better than expected, mainly due to strong sales of X-Men: ToG and Over The Hedge. The subsequent conference call revealed that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has a tentative release date set for Q4 2007 (ends March 2007) and executives were impressed by the popularity of the two Call of Duty 2 mappacks, which garnered a total of nearly $1 million.
