On Oct. 7, 2005, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation banning the sale of violent video games to children. The video game industry filed an appeal few days later, and since the law was on hold until Judge Ronald Whyte had a chance to review the facts. According to Gamepolitics the Judge has now thrown out the law as unconstitunional saying, "The evidence does not establish that video games, because of their interactive nature or otherwise, are any more harmful than violent television, movies, internet sites or other speech-related exposures."

DreamCatcher's Painkiller is a first-person horror shooter where you, a mercenary for hire, are caught in a battle between good and evil. Guy Walks Into a Bar, known for Elf and recently wrapped up Starship Dave with Eddie Murphy, has acquired the rights to make a feature movie out the game franchise. The feature adaptation will blend the fast-paced action, the wide array of weaponry and cast of demonic characters.

While there has yet to be a formal announcement, online retail GameStop has put up a product page for Dancing with the Stars, to be published by Activision. No further details are revealed, but it's probably safe to assume it is an adaptation of the popular TV show where a celebrity, who usually has no apparent dancing talent, is paired up with a professional dancer to compete for the top honors. A PS2 and Wii version are planned, currently scheduled for November 13, 2007.
