Robert Byers, a Chicago resident who bought a new Xbox 360 has sued Microsoft saying the new video game console has a design flaw in the he power supply and central processing unit that causes it to overheat and freeze up.

EA today announced that it as opened a new development studio in the heart of Singapore city, which will focus on localizing and customizing popular EA games into at least five different languages for distribution throughout the Asia region, and eventually evolve into an online game development facility. A development team is already in place and the first localized projects have already started to be shipped.

Kuma Reality Games' latest installment takes gamers through the frenzied search through the town of Adwar, and the capture of Saddam Hussein by U.S. troops in the infamous "spider hole." Kuma's previous episode was a recreation of the events that led to Saddam's war crimes trial, currently in progress in Iraq.

Trackmania Nations ESWC edition is a fast-paced racing game involving precision and agility specially built for competition and will be free for download in Januari 2006. Back in May Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich introduced a bill to ban violent video games, which was then later approved and had to go in effect January 1st. On July 25, 2005, a lawsuit was filed challenging the law, claiming it violated the First Amendment guarantee of freedom of speech. Today, Federal District Judge Matthew F. Kennelly in Chicago, IL agreed with the plaintiffs and ruled that the video game restriction law is unconstitutional, and issued an order permanently enjoining the law's enforcement. Midway issued the following statement regarding the status Rise & Fall: CaW, "Due to circumstances beyond Midway's control, Stainless Steel Studios is no longer involved with the development of Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War. Super X Studios announced that it is terminating their publishing agreement with Digital Jesters for their upcoming title Wild Earth. Super X Studios owner James Thrush stated, "It has come to our awareness that the company we signed with, Digital Jesters Limited, will not be able to fulfill its publishing role as its staff and assets are being subsumed by the new DJ Group publishing company. We wish them well on their new venture but as of this moment we are looking to place Wild Earth, which is now completed, with another publisher."

MaxGaming has released an updated demo for its mecha MMO game Dark Horizons: Lore Invasion, where the player’s stats will affect the outcome of the war and ultimately write the history of the Dark Horizons universe. This demo features a Team Deathmatch map, an Assault level titled Sector 2, and a Capture the Core map called Crash Site in a choice of four mechs on either side (thanks 3DGamers). SCEI announced today that cumulative worldwide shipment of PS2s had reached 100 million units, within 5 years and 9 months since its launch in Japan in March 2000. Previous record was set by PSOne which reached the same mark in 9 years and 6 months since launch, thus making the PS2 3 years ahead of schedule.

Activision announced today that it has signed an agreement with Spider-Man Merchandising to extend its exclusive worldwide publishing rights to the Spider-Man motion pictures through 2017, granting Activision the right to publish games based on subsequent Spider-Man movie sequels or new television series.

After previously Nintendo and Microsoft already announced that they would be integrating parental controls in their nextgen console, Sony has become the latest of the video game console makers to join the ranks to help parents restrict their children's access to violent video games.
