Activision announced today that music industry veteran Tim Riley has joined the company as worldwide executive of music. Riley brings to Activision more than 11 years of experience in the music industry and an extensive background in music licensing and supervision. In his new position, Riley will direct all activities concerning the integration of music into the company's games and aggressively seek opportunities to expand Activision's alliances with record labels around the world. Additionally, he will identify, negotiate and secure worldwide music licenses for Activision's products. Supporting Riley in his new role will be Brandon Young who joins Activision as music supervisor and licensing coordinator.

Konami of America, today revealed the song list featured in the ground-breaking new game, Karaoke Revolution for the Sony PlayStation2. As North America's first-ever interactive karaoke game, Karaoke Revolution uses a headset microphone and proprietary "voice analyzer" technology to measure the player's pitch and rhythm in order to deliver a score. As a flagship launch-title, the original Destruction Derby was a powerful demonstration of PlayStation gaming values. Liberating, cathartic and (for its time!) brutally realistic, it freed gamers from the restrictions associated with traditional driving games. Subsequent sequels performed well and added numerous features; total Destruction Derby sales now total 3 million +!! However, by the third incarnation it became clear that the limitations of the PSX were restricting the improvement of the franchise's basic game proposition.
