Gears of War 2 picks up six months after the events of the original, thrusting players back into humankind's epic battle for survival against a nightmarish force of underground creatures known as the Locust Horde. Epic is working on a major title update for GoW2 that will address bugs, online exploits (invisible shield, melee through some walls, gain infinite Lancer ammo), and new achievements related to DLCs. The online gameplay experience will also be improved by increasing penalties for quitting matches early, adding additional spawn protection against planted grenades and chainsaw attacks, and adding the ability to see the Submission flag carrier destination by using Tac/Com.

While not yet announced, UK studio Juice Games, part of THQ, was working on a new action/air combat/flight sim game in the vein of Ubisoft's H.A.W.X. and Namco Bandai's Ace Combat series.
