Empire: Total War will maintain the series 3D battles, grand turn based campaign map and rich historical flavor while for the first time introducing 3D naval combat into the series. With the v1.3 patch due on Monday (which will improve performance, add balance tweaks, and no less than 14 new units) now is the change to pick up the game on the cheap as Valve is slashing the price in half, now only $25.

Melbourne-based Big Ant Studios, known for Spyro: The Eternal Night (PS2) and Hellboy: The Science of Evil (PSP), revealed that it is bringing AFL to the current-gen system and is currently developing it for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, scheduled for 2010.
