This update brings your retail game to v1.1 and addresses many issues with multiplayer dealing with game stability, performance and some synch issues. You must download the patch to play online. Creative Assembly's Richie Skinner has posted a comment in the official R:TW forums about an upcoming patch addressing an issue people have been experiencing with the Rome Total War multiplayer mode. "Hello everyone. We are aware of the concerns raised over the multiplayer issues as we've been reading your feedback that has been posted to this forum. There will be an official statement about a patch in the near future. Please bear with us as the game has not yet been released in all regions and we need to assess the situation fully to get a clear understanding what issues need to / can be addressed." Of course we will have it available on our fileservers the moment it gets released.

Activision, Inc. announced today the release of the Medieval: Total War Battle Collection, an all-new compilation of the Creative Assembly's critically acclaimed Medieval: Total War and the expansion pack Medieval: Total War Viking Invasion. The title is currently available at retail outlets nationwide for a suggested retail price of $29.95 and is rated "T" (Teen - with Blood and Violence descriptors) by the ESRB.

Activision, Inc. today announced that Rome: Total War, the latest installment in The Creative Assembly's award-winning Total War series, is on schedule for a fall 2004 release. Activision announced today that Rome: Total War, the revolutionary new real-time strategy game from The Creative Assembly and Tony Hawk's Underground, the first game in a new breed of Tony Hawk skateboarding games, were awarded Best of E3 2003 honors for Best Strategy Game and Best Sports Game. Activision, Inc. today announced an expansion pack for Medieval: Total War, the critically acclaimed PC strategy game which was honored as the top PC game of all time by PC Gamer (UK). Developed by The Creative Assembly, Medieval: Total War - Viking Invasion turns the clock back to 790AD, when the Viking hordes descended from their Scandinavian strongholds to pillage their neighbors. This is not the Rome : Total War from Creative Assembly but a mere addon for the original game.

Publisher Activision and developer Creative Assembly have been quiet about their new installment for the Total War RTS series. Rumor had it that the 3rd edition was going to be set in the Roman Empire period but no comments were given by either parties, either way the cat is out of the bag as the new trailer clearly shows the rumor is true.
