Ahh, weekend, I'm always glad to see ya. Slept in way late but then had to rush to get our errands done because the wife and I wanted to watch the women's semifinals of the U.S. Open. Of course, we were rooting for Kim Clijsters, who played a great match even though victory came in a somewhat awkward way. Onto the finals!

We also watched "Inkheart" with Brandon Frasier, which turned out the be much better than we anticipated. It's more geared toward the younger crowd but not a bad flick at all.

Also received my latest Gears of War comic books (thanks Dana) so I quickly shredded through those, but I am still amazed at how thin comics are these days, and they're filled to the brim with ads. I used to be an avid X-Men and Sgt. Rock reader 15 years ago, so it seems things have changed quite a bit. It's been a while, so maybe I'll have to dig up my old issues and reminisce.

A Fallout MMO has been talked about since 2004, but Interplay was forced to sell off most of its licenses due to financial reasons. When Bethesda acquired the Fallout license, Interplay kept an exclusive Fallout MMO license, under certain conditions. Interplay's annual 10-K filing reveals that Bethesda might be trying to cash in on that, claiming that those "certain conditions," namely full production within 2 years and funding, have not been met, which would revert the MMO license back to Bethesda. Now it seems the Fallout 3 developer is following through as it has formally filed suit against Interplay for their inability to move forward with the MMO, but also for making digital distribution deals with GOG and Steam for its back catalog and repackaged products which have not been approved by Bethesda (thanks NMA).

DJ Hero expands Guitar Hero's signature social gaming to all-new consumers with the addition of diverse music genres including hip-hop, R&B, Motown, electronica and dance. Electronica outfit Daft Punk has teamed up with Activision to not only contribute 11 tracks but the duo will also be available as in-game characters and have their own stage featuring some of their real life show props.

Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version return players to the scenic Johto region first introduced in the original Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver games nearly a decade ago, now enhanced for the NDS(i) with updated graphics/sound, as well as new touch-screen features and a host of surprises.

Completely remastered for PSP, SMT: Persona boasts a fully redone localization, all-new music, beautiful new animated sequences, enhanced graphics optimized for the PSP system's widescreen aspect ratio, and extra content. Atlus issued a statement saying that the digital version has been delayed a few days until Oct. 1, 2009, while the retail edition is still on track (Sept. 22).

Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou, loosely translated as Okami Legend: The Small Sun,  follows the same art style as the PS2 and Wii titles, and while it plays off in similar environments it is an all-new adventure set several months after the conclusion of the original where you follow a new, younger character. Obviously, gameplay is similar to the previous Okami titles with the DS stylus being used to draw your magical symbols.

New Star Grand Prix is a top-down racing game inspired by classics such as Super Sprint and Micro Machines, but brought bang up to date to feature all the teams, drivers and tracks of the 2009 Grand Prix season. New Star GP has been updated to version 1.16 and now features an online multiplayer mode where up to 20 drivers can compete over the internet or LAN.

The loveable characters from the original Super Monkey Ball, AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon and Baby, are back with all new mind-blowing puzzles and party games specifically designed to fully utilize the Wii Balance Board accessory and the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.
