Ascaron is putting the finishing touches on the console version of its action/rpg Sacred 2, but it seems the lengthy development process and several delays may have cost the German developer a little bit too much as it has filed for bankruptcy protection on April 14, 2009. Ascaron is looking for interesting parties to acquire the studio, and to sweeten the pot it revealed that an add-on for Sacred 2 is already in development, scheduled for this summer, as well as a third installment in the franchise.

Syberia 3 takes Kate on an adventure which mixes suspense, myth, ecology and action. She crosses paths with a weird Vic McPherson who is investigating the murky business of international trafficking of ancient works of art and prehistoric ivory. On April 1st Microids announced Syberia 3 would be coming to PC and PS3, which turned out to be a semi April Fools joke. While the game is in development, SCEA has been giving Microids the cold should despite SCEE's approval of previous Syberia titles, leaving it up to Sony whether the newest installment will actually be on the PS3.

Founders of the Pirate Bay BitTorrent Web site have been
found guilty of assisting in making copyright content available. Carl Lundström, Fredrik Neij, Peter Sunde and Gottfrid Svartholm were each sentenced to a year in prison and must pay a total of $3,620,000 in damages. Sunde revealed he will appeal the court ruling and will continue operating the Pirate Bay site.
