Vulnerabilities in online gaming and virtual worlds lead to money laundering and other dangers, according to a new report by Dr. Igor Muttik, senior architect for McAfee Avert Labs. As revenues for virtual worlds topped $1.1 billion in 2006 and are expected to triple by 2009, online games are a hot target for cybercriminals looking to exploit vulnerabilities for money-making gains, who not only steal from online players, but also use virtual worlds to exchange funds achieved through their other criminal activities.

According to the latest EGM issue Rockstar Toronto, know for The Warriors, is working on a new installment in the Max Payne series. While there is no official announcement May Payne 3 wouldn't come as much of a surprise considering there is a movie coming out, starring Mark Wahlberg, later this year. May Payne was originally released in 2001, and a sequel in 2003 already teased there would be a 3rd part, but apparently not by Remedy who is still working on Alan Wake.

Remember that rumble lawsuit that went on between Sony and Immersion? Everybody wondered why Microsoft did not get sued as well, but the software giant cleverly and quietly settled. There was more to it than met the eye: In the 2003 settlement, an odd clause offered Microsoft $15 million if Immersion sued Sony and obtained a settlement, which, they did in 2007. However, Immersion never paid Microsoft, which led to another lawsuit; Immersion agreed to pay Microsoft $20.75 million and enroll in Microsoft's Certified Partner Program.

Red Mile signed the license to Frank Miller's Sin City graphic novels and comic books; signed Flint Dille, known for The Chronicles of Riddick, as designer/scriptwriting; and revealed Sin City: The Game will be powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 3. Red Mile
revealed that Transmission Games is no longer
developing the game, instead focusing on Heroes Over Europe. The studio switch happened a while ago, although Red Mile did not reveal who the new developer is.
