Activision announced today that it will prepare for an equal amount of launch titles on the PS3 as it is working on X360 one's, when the new Sony system will ship in spring 2006. To better cope with the demand for new titles, Activision will be looking to increase its in-house developers by as much as 30 percent. Activision only recently received development hardware for the PS3, but has already been workingon four X360 launch titles for almost a year.

KOEI for the first time revealed dramatic footage of its inaugural PlayStation 3 title, NI-OH at Sony's exclusive E3 Press Briefing. The clip, which depicts a blonde-haired samurai with blue eyes, is also being screened at the KOEI booth during the E3 held this week in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Majesco revealed that it will publish a next-gen console title, under development at Papaya Studio and scheduled for next year, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Taxi Driver, which will make its debut at the E3 2005.

Remedy Entertainment has revealed the official name of its next project. No sequel to Max Payne, but an all new IP, Alan Wake. Discribed as a psychological thriller, no additional details were provided, but they did toss up a teaser website with a few screens and trailer. Quantic Dream is finalizing initial design documents for two next-generation projects: Omikron 2, the sequel to Quantic Dream's first PC hit, and Infraworld, a new franchise. Both projects are aimed at X-Box 2, PS3 consoles and for PC and will be developed on Quantic Dream's proprietary next gen' engine. The later will offer enhanced physics capabilities through a recently signed partnership with NOVODEX and a range of action orientated features. The highly anticipated microchip that will power the PS3 made its debut today, as IBM, Sony and Toshiba showed off the inner workings of a chip intended to run a new generation of electronics. Cell is based on IBM's existing Power processor line, and will work with various software packages, including Linux. The chip will have nearly a quarter-billion transistors and be built on 90-nanometer manufacturing technology. It will work with a memory technology developed by Rambus. 2K Games today announced a co-publishing agreement between Take-Two and Bethesda Softworks, granting Take-Two co-publishing, sales and distribution rights to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. 2K Games has also signed an agreement to co-publish Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, a first-person horror game that combines intense action and adventure elements.

Through an
interview over at C&VG Lorne Lanning revealed that Oddworld Inhabitants is already working on an all new IP Citizen Sage. Currently developing Oddworld Stranger's Wrath for EA, the new title will be set in the near future and deal with current issues like "martial law and the diminishment of civil liberties." Citizen Sage is under development for current as well as next gen consoles, no release date is mentioned.
