Ubi Soft Entertainment announced the upcoming availability of console demos and CD soundtrack in support of the launch of XIII, its highly anticipated first-person shooter. Demos and CD soundtrack will be available late September. PlayStation2 and Xbox fans can get an exclusive sneak peek at exciting single-player and multi-players levels along with a full length soundtrack produced by San Francisco-based label Future Primitive Sound. The purchase of this two-disc will be applied to the full product when it becomes available. Nintendo GameCube and PC fans can receive the enhanced CD soundtrack by pre-ordering.

The World Cyber Games officially announced today that San Francisco will be the WCG Grand Final host city for the year 2004, taking the world’s largest e-sports event to a new level of global excitement and interest. The announcement was made at a press conference in San Francisco City Hall on September 3. Mr. Il-hyung Chang attended the press conference on behalf of Mr. Jong-yong Yun, co-chairman of the World Cyber Games Committee (WCGC), along with Mayor Willie L. Rockstar Games' products planned for release in the fourth quarter include the launch of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, the sequel to the hit franchise that has sold over 4 million units since its debut in 2001. The title will launch on PC, and will be in stores in North America on October 15th, with PlayStation2 and Xbox versions planned for release in the first quarter.

Take-Two Interactive Software and TDK Mediactive announced an agreement today pursuant to which Take-Two will acquire all shares of outstanding common stock of TDK Mediactive. Under the terms of the agreement, Take-Two will purchase TDK Mediactive for approximately $22.7 million, consisting of (1) $0.55 per share for each of the 23,005,885 shares outstanding (approximately $12.6 million); (2) purchase of debt of approximately $9.9 million ($1.9 million in cash and $8 million in restricted shares of common stock of Take-Two, or approximately 270,000 shares); and (3) approximately $0.2 million to retire outstanding stock options.
