In celebration of Need of Speed's 10th year anniversary, EA announced today that it will be shipping a Need for Speed Most Wanted collector’s edition in November for PS2, Xbox and PC, in conjunction with the launch of the game for all platforms. Need for Speed Most Wanted Black Edition, will feature exclusive cars, races and specially-tuned rides, as well as a bonus DVD with behind the scenes footage of model/actress, Josie Maran, concept art, exclusive videos and much more. It was also confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of the game will ship as a launch title.

Atari Europe has released a demo for Etranges Libellules' action/platformer Asterix & Obelix XXL 2: Mission Las Vegum, an explosive video game crammed with surprising encounters that parody the greatest icons of the video game world and is awash with wry references to many of the great moments that have marked over 25 years of video game history. More than one million people in Europe and North America are now playing NCsoft's MMORPG Guild Wars. In celebration of its commercial and critical success, NCsoft Europe has today announced a Guild Wars Special Edition, available on 21st October throughout Europe.

Space Invaders Evolution inaugurates the Evolution brand, a sister to the Revolution series on the Nintendo DS. Space Invaders Evolution marks Rising Star's first step onto the PSP and will blaze a trail for daring innovation that future Evolution titles will aim to follow.

German online magazine GameRadio.de has composed quite an impressive movie about "the spirit of games convention." With this movie, supported by publishers and video-experts, they want to transport the feeling of Europe's biggest videogame-fair, the Games Convention in Leipzig. It´s an exceptional movie with a professional (licensed) soundtrack, impressions of the games and an interview with the manager of that fair. It has a slight german comment, but the information is transported by music and pictures.

For the first time in the seven-year history of the game, Pump It Up players from across the United States will be gathering in Concord, North Carolina for the first annual National Pump It Up Competition. Sponsored by Andamiro, Mastiff, and Jillian's, this event will decide who goes on to represent the U.S. in the World Pump Festival later this year in Seoul, Korea, where players will compete for over $30,000 in cash prizes.

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 furthers the realism, on and off-the-ball movement intuitive control, a host of new gameplay features and aesthetic touches as Konami continues their quest to deliver the most realistic football title. While the release date was previously set for an ambiguous Q4 2005, today Konami announced specific dates. The Xbox and PS2 versions are scheduled for October 20, PC follows on October 27, while the PSP edition is expected in November. No specific dates for North America have been announced yet.

Heroes of Might & Magic V will benefit from the features and characteristics that established the success of the initial saga while offering a wealth of innovations such as a highly immersive scenario, a variety of appealing factions, modern 3D graphics, a revolutionary tactical combat system, and a story-based campaign mode. 2K Games has released a demo for Croteam's Serious Sam II, allowing you to try out the complete Seriousopolis Uptown, playable solo, or over LAN or online by up to four people. More than two thirds of all video gamers feel that video games already surpass, or will soon at least equal movies, music and books in delivering an emotional impact, according to a study released today by Bowen Research, a firm that studies consumer attitudes and behavior regarding high tech products, consumer electronics, software and web sites.

Earlier this week rumors went wild that 2K Games informed us that the eagerly anticipated Serious Sam 2 demo will be released tomorrow morning at 10AM EDT (7am PST). The single/multiplayer demo will feature the complete Seriousopolis Uptown level, playable over LAN and co-op with up to four people, all weapons included and will also have one of the vehicles. Of course we will have the demo available on our fileserver network at the aforementioned time.

While there were still no playable PS3 games at the TGS 2005, Sony Computer Entertainment did reveal an impressive list of 102 PS3 titles, either scheduled or already in development for its next gen console, as well as a list of no less than 71 publishers who expressed their support. Read more for the details, which contain quite a few unannounced titles such as Ubisoft's Assassin and Brothers in Arms 3, Atari's Stuntman sequel, Konami's Gradius, SNK's Maximum Impact 3, and plenty more...

While specific details are still somewhat sketchy, Konami did finally unveil the first details. As you can see from the screens and trailer, Snake is much older than any of the previous titles, and the events in MGS 4 take places several years after Metal Gear Solid 2.
