EA announced today that Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward will serve as cover athletes and spokespeople for Fight Night Round 3 for PS2 and Xbox. Both boxing champions renowned for their intense rivalry in the sport will be featured on the cover. The Xbox 360 and PSP editions will showcase an exclusive cover athlete to be unveiled at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Jan. 2006.

Activision Replies To 'Call of Duty 2' Community Boycott

A couple weeks back members of the official Infinity War forum threatened with a 24 hour server boycott, taking down their multiplayer servers, due to the lack of support and communication from Activision and IW, especially anti-cheat/punkbuster integration, etc. Activision finally replied : "After 2 years of non-stop work on Call of Duty 2, Infinity Ward has just returned from a much-deserved break. The team is aware of some concerns about multiplayer cheating in the game and is looking into an anti-cheat solution." Not a lot to go on, and it only addresses one of the grievances ..

Late September Phoenix Online Studios received a cease and desist order from Vivendi virtually killing the KQ IX project. After a few months of negotiations and an online petition to save the project, Vivendi has granted a fan license allowing to continue work, although the agreement demaned them to change the name from KQ IX: Every Cloak Has A Silver Lining will now be called The Silver Lining.

Capcom announced that it is bringing one of its most popular PSOne RPG series to the PSP. Breath of Fire III will not break any new boundaries as graphically it is nothing special, as are most RPG's anyhow, apart from the PSP's 16:9 display. On the other hand you will be able to play the minigames in multiplayer through the PSP's game sharing function.
