Rage Rider is a combat racing game for the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP). It is devoted to violent motorcycle racing events in which racers can battle their opponents in a variety of ways - from kicks and punches to melee weapons (such as baseball bats, lead pipes, etc.) and firearms (pistols, sawn-off shotguns, etc.). Japanese publisher Idea Factory revealed one of its newest projects, Spectral Force 3: Innocent Rage for the Xbox 360. Known for RPGs such as , Idea has tapped XPEC Entertainment as developer for the new next-gen title which is currently scheduled for April 2006 in Japan. A couple years ago, the GarageGames position on shader support was that it was not needed. Now, however, a new generation of video cards supporting shaders and DirectX 9 have been on the market for several years and are becoming ubiqutious in new computers. Shaders are becoming a technology that cannot be ignored by game makers, but that cannot easily be addressed by old techniques.
