ORIGIN, an Electronic Arts development studio, today announced the five-year anniversary of Ultima Online (UO), marking the event with discounts of the latest version of UO and by unveiling a new U.S. shard, an area within the game, where players can get in on the ground floor to begin a brand new adventure. In addition, ORIGIN is launching a retrospective five-year anniversary Web site that will feature original UO art and special moments shared by UO players worldwide. BAM! Entertainment today announced that its first title for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver, has gone gold and will be the first published title from Microsoft's Incubator Program when it reaches retail shelves later this month. The title was developed by South African-based I-Imagine Interactive, which became the first independent developer in the world to be signed up with Microsoft's Incubator Program and is the only licensed Xbox developer on the African continent.

Legendary NBA announcer Marv Albert has said "YESSS!" to working with Electronic Arts, the world's leading interactive entertainment software company. Albert will lend his voice to the highly anticipated NBA LIVE 2003 and future iterations of the game.

Prepare to battle through history as the evil TimeSplitters get ready to rise again. TimeSplitters 2 is the sequel to the hugely successful and critically acclaimed TimeSplitters, which was released to coincide with the US and European launches of PlayStation 2. Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears takes players to the eerie town of Silent Hill, where they assume the role of James Sunderland. James has received a cryptic letter from his wife, asking him to meet her in Silent Hill, a place that holds great meaning for the couple. What would normally be a comforting, romantic letter scares and confuses James, as his wife has been dead for three years. The mystery of the letter compels him to return to the surreal horror and all-too-real danger in the monster-ridden town of Silent Hill.

As expected the demo version of No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way has been released and can be found on FilePlanet (registration required) and also at Gigex. The demo is a 158 MB download, and according to plan, offers "four levels total from three of the game's 15 chapters. Paradox Entertainment announce that they have entered several publishing agreements for Paradox's upcoming titles Hearts of Iron and Crusader Kings. Both games have been signed to Koch Media for UK/Eire, to Snowball Interactive for Russia and the Baltics, to CD Projekt for Poland, Czech, Slovak and Hungary and Hearts of Iron to Friendware in Spain. All versions will be localized.
